Launch of the Blog!

I didn’t think it would take me this long, but I have finally launched my new blog, RyanOutside.com.  Please pay it a visit!  I’ll be blogging about my interests and adventures there, and I’ll blog about church ministry-related issues at my church’s blog, PraiseHimWith.Us/Blog. A New Blog

If you’ve noticed a slow-down in my posting lately, one of the reasons is that I am developing a new blog that will launch in a few days.  I’m really excited about this blog.  It will have a new look, a new name, a new address, and new content.  I will be keeping posts related to PCF and ministry connected to the PCF blog, but all my other interests will be captured in the new blog.  Stay tuned for the launch!

What a great day of worship at Praise!  Our theme centered on celebrating God for his  blessings over the past year, and it truly was a thankful time.   The worship team did a great job.  I preached a year-end message reflecting on  2010 at Praise, and I had a blast preparing for it (even though I went way too long in my delivery–I don’t think anyone died of boredom but it might have come close).

After the worship service we had communion and Pastor Kevin led for the first time in his ministry.  I had so much fun serving communion to the pews and then sitting in the back with my family while Pastor Kevin administered the sacrament.  It was so refreshing to participate in communion from a different perspective and watch our church family minister to each other.

Christmas Weekend at Praise

Dear Praise Family,

Here’s some news about the coming Christmas celebrations I want to make sure you have.  I hope to see you and worship with you this weekend!

Candlelight Services:

Our Dec. 23 service is at 7pm, and there will be nursery care available for ages birth-3.  Our Dec. 24 service is at 5pm and the nursery will not be staffed.

Elder Ordination:

On Sunday, Dec. 26, we’ll be ordaining Phil Havens as an elder during the worship service.  This is a very special, exciting event for our church family, one that comes along once every few years.  We will be affirming Phil in the role we’ve called him to, and we’ll be celebrating after the service with some refreshments.  Our Regional Pastor, Rev. Warren Geraghty, will be officiating.  Join us!

12/19  Worship at 10:30am

1/2  Sunday school resumes at 9:00am, Worship at 10:30am

12/12 Worship is on!

PCF friends–we are still having worship at 10:30am today–our lots have been re-sanded and temperatures continue to rise.  Please drive safely and walk safely when you arrive–we will also have greeters available to walk you from your car (and we have umbrellas!)  We are gearing up for the worship and the church has been decorated for the Christmas season–it will be a great day for worship!  See you soon!

12/12 Sunday school cancelled at PCF

Due to inclement weather, Sunday school will be cancelled today.  Road conditions are alright, however our parking lots are icy.  We’re planning to have worship at 10:30.  Puppets of Praise will still take place during our worship service, but the pageant might be postponed until Dec. 19.  Please drive safe!  We anticipate our lots will be re-sanded and safe for 10:30 worship.

This Sunday Steve Gwilt, our Director of Worship Services and a member of our teaching team, will be preaching the final message in our series on spiritual warfare. I got to hear a run-through of his sermon today and I’m excited for our congregation to hear this message, a powerful reminder that in the spiritual conflict of our world, God has the victory.
